My Time at Back Bay

                   My Time at Back Bay
I began coming to Back Bay High School the second or third week of September. I transferred from Edison I first came here to only make up fifteen or so credits. But the only reason I really decided to go here was because I knew a few people. My first day here was a little interesting I didn’t talk much but I did meet a group of girls that seemed to be a lot like me. My teachers were very different from all my other teachers at my other schools. These teachers seemed to connect a lot with the student not only that but they also seemed to care about us and how we were doing and the reasons we ended up at this school.

At Back Bay I realized that there are all kinds of people that come from all different places. But for once in my life I started to like high school. Not only because my teachers were so cool but also because all the students seemed to get along with each other and we all connected someway or another. Also yes we were all at this school but not for once you should think that any of us have the same story. All our stories are different and we all have different reasons we ended up here.

As I’ve mentioned before the teacher here are so much different from all the other ones at every other school. There is something special about them that it’s so hard to explain. If someone asked me who my favorite teacher is I would never be able to give you one answer. I love every single one of them for different reasons. But I would have to say Mr. Kovac, Mr. Lamar, Ms. Moore, Mr. Harrison, and Ms. Christopher made the biggest change since in he since I’ve been here. I think it’s because they were my first teachers I had here and they opened my eyes to so many new things and made me realize what I really wanted to do with high school.

Even though this is my first year at Back Bay I’m really going to miss all of the teachers and students. I think out of all my years in high school this one has been the best one. I love Back Bay for so many reasons but I think it’s an excellent school because all the work is done at school and you don’t have to worry about homework. The only thing I don’t like about this school is that there aren’t any dances but other then that it’s my favorite school out of all the ones I’ve been to.  These teachers aren’t just our teachers but we have grown so close to them that they are like our friends.

My Summer 2011

                My Summer 2011
During my summer break this year one of the things I plan on doing is start working more. Even though I have a job already I don’t really like it. I’ve been applying to different places and I already have a job interview at Tilly’s and El Matador for the week I get out of school. I’m hoping one of those interviews goes well so I can soon have another job and make more money. A big part of my summer this year will revolve around work.  But that’s not the only thing I plan on doing this summer.

This summer I’m praying that it will be hot because my boyfriend and I are planning on going to Palm Spring with his family. The reason I really want to go to Palm Springs is because I’ve never been there before and neither has he. We plan on taking our minds off of work and just relax and lay by the pool and get a nice tan. We also are planning on getting nice massages and just hang out with the family and have fun. Once we come back we will probably be at the beach everyday we don’t work or by the pool.

I think this summer is going to be a very crazy summer especially for me because I plan on traveling, working, and most importantly do summer school. During summer school I am going to take economics so I could graduate in December when we get back to school. Even though summer school is only about three weeks long that’s not the only school I’ll be doing. I’m also signed up to take an ROP class about animal health. Including that class I will be doing an internship with them for an animal hospital so that should be very interesting and fun.

Most importantly this summer I will be spending a lot of time with my boyfriend and my family. Like I’ve mentioned before I will be going to Palm Springs with my boyfriend and his family. But that’s not the only way we will be spending time together we also plan on taking a few road trips and go to the beach. One of my favorite things about summer time is being able to spend time with family I plan on also going with my mom to San Francisco to visit her friend that just moved down there. I’m defiantly looking forward to that since I love San Fran. This summer is going to probably be the best summer of my high school years. I am very excited and anxious for it to already come.

Fast Five

This action movie works because it builds suspense right up till the end. "If you’re gonna survive, stop thinking like a cop. You’re in my world now." This famous quote in the movie is said by Vin Diesel(Dominic). I believe this quote is a very important part of the movie because it pretty much says that thinking like a cop limits your thinking and/or options. Also if you think like a cop your will probably end up getting caught by one.
Fast Five is an action film filled with street racing directed by Justin Lin. This series was created in 2001 ever since it has been followed by four sequels and two short films that tie into the series. The difference in this movie is that the crew goes to Brazil to do their missions.
The action in this movie was very              suspenseful. One scene specifically was
when they were stealing the cars from the train and Dominic and Brian get caught when the girl takes the car to the wrong place but they always seem to be able to get away from everything. The suspense in the movie was awesome because it just keeps building up till the very end.The actors in this movie don't seem like they are just doing this to get payed unlike other movies but just like the director Justin Lin says. "I have to be honest: I'm not a big car guy. At the core, Fast and Furious is about family and how to create them." The actors seem to be great at working together like a family. Not only are the main charters in this movie close but everyone in the movie seems to bond someway or another to each other. The car action was also great and all the racing. The cars seemed to not only be fast but look really good. The way they were able to drive them and  just control them on the streets made it that much better.

Compare/Contrast- Get Him with the Greek

In the website rogerebert.com Roger Ebert talks about the movie Get Him to the Greek. This movies about two guys Russell Brand and Jonah Hill and how their friendship works. Hill's character is required be cool and nice to Brand but he's desperately trying to do the right thing. Russell Brand is a rock star, self-destructive, smarter than he seems, and he is also excellent at controlling others. Get Him to the Greek is a great comedy and Roger Ebert seems to think so too. When Brand's character has reveals his true rock and roll roots. He can party at top speed and send Aldous onstage at the Greek, despite a bleeding wound from a jump from a rooftop. Even though this movie is a hilarious comedy it's not the best movie to watch with the whole family since it does have some gross-out comedy that grows, offensive language, drugs, its partying, and its animal behavior. Roger Ebert and I have many of the same views about this movie. The only thing is that he does not mention that this movie is a little over the top, as in it is pretty gross and has a lot of drugs and sex. Even though this movie is crazy and all over the place it's still one of my favorite movies since it has none stop cheap laughs.

Haven't Met You Yet

The song Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble is one of my favorite songs for many reasons. First of all I love all of Michael Buble's music. His music has a lot of meaning behind it. For example the song I picked he wrote for his wife and that's why she is the girl in the video with him. Michael not only is a good singer, but he seems like a great person also. Another reason why I like this song is because unlike a lot of singers now a days you can actually understand what he is saying, and there is meaning behind all his songs. I would have to say that Michael Buble is one of my favorite artists and I would recommend everyone to listen to his music.

My Dream School

If could attend any school that I wanted and if money, grades and admissions tests were not a consideration. I would still want to attend Point Loma Nazarene University. There are many reasons why I would love to attend this school. Not only am I interested in it because it's a Christian school  but also because it has everything I desire in a school.

Point Loma is located in San Diego and that's somewhere i totally see myself living. This would be my dream school because it has Criminal Justice which is the major I've been wanting to study all my life. That's not the only reason Point Loma also has a great women's soccer team that I'm very interested being a part of. This school also seems to have many campus activities which I know I would get involved in.

I can see myself becoming very comfortable with this school because the people there seem to have the same believes as me. By going to a school where pretty much everyone there has the same faith as I do makes it that much easier for me to feel at home. Point Loma University has also a private beach of their own and since I love being at the beach it also makes it more of my dream school. There are many reasons that I would want to attend this school but most of all it's because I can totally see this University becoming my second home.

My 5 Year Plan

At the moment I am a junior at Back Bay High School. Unlike every other junior out there I will be graduating in December of this year. During my few months left in high school I am planning on taking ROP classes to become a dental assistant. While I'm doing this I also will be working and interring at the police station. With the money I make working I will be saving up to buy a car and pay for college, during that time I'll also be filling out scholarships.

After graduating I will be flying out to Argentina for about three or four months to visit my family and go to school to work on my spanish. Once I get back from Argentina I plan on attending Irvine Valley College  and doing my general ed and taking Criminal Justice classes. I also plan on being able to make their soccer team. While going to college and playing soccer I also plan to hopefully be working as a dental assistant. I will be having up money to hopefully move out after graduation.

Once I am finished with my general ed and get an AA degree in business. I plan on attending Point Loma University in San Diego to keep studying Criminal Justice. I'll probably be living with a friend or two by the beautiful beach in San Diego. While attending Point Loma I will be working in a dental office and also will be playing soccer for the schools team.

During my second year at Point Loma I plan to still work hard on what I'm studying and not fail a class. I also plan to be still dating my boyfriend and hopefully by this time be engaged to him. Even though I am not planing on getting married way before I get my Bachelors degree it would be nice to know that he is there to support me every step of the way. By both of us working hard and studying we will save up money to buy a beautiful home and have enough money to spoil our future children.

Five years from now I plan on being engaged and working hard to save money to have the future I've always dreamed about. In five years I won't be done with my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice but I will be more then half way close to it. By this time I will be planning my wedding and still be working as a dental assistant. I also am hoping that I still be playing soccer and I plan to travel to Greece with my wonderful fiance. Also we will be very excited and looking forward to our future together.

Letter Of Recommendation

April 1, 2011

Mr. Walske
Computer Teacher
Back Bay High School
390 Monte Vista Ave
Costa Mesa, CA 92627

Dear Mr. Walske;

Melody Bottazzi is someone I’ve personally known for years. She asked me to write a letter of recommendation since she is very interested in your scholarship. She attends Back Bay High School and will be graduating early. Melody is one of the best students at her school she has straight A’s and is involved in many campus activities. She is not only involved with school activities and cares a lot about her classmates but she is also captain of her soccer team, has been dancing for over eleven years, and regularly attends church.

Melody is one of the sweetest people I know she always helps those in need and always thinks about others before herself. She is someone that will never give up and succeeds all her goals. Melody is a very hard working young lady that has great plans for the future and without a doubt will succeed in whatever she sets her mind to. I know she would be the perfect person to grant your scholarship to because she has her mindset and knows what she wants for her future. Not only that but Melody will never give up.

Melody also has an awesome support system at home and around her all the time. Her parents support her every step of the way. They are also very proud of all her accomplishments, and she has a huge heart for others. She has helped out her friends through hard times and she has also been through many difficult times but she believes that life is about learning from your past and looking forward to the future.  For all these reasons and many more I hope you see why Melody Bottazzi would be the best choice for the scholarship.

Sincerely,

Melody Bottazzi

My Favorite Sport

Ever since i was a baby since my family is from Argentina and Italy they were all huge soccer fans. I was growing up watching soccer everyday of my life. Ever since I was old enough to play the sport my parents signed me up to play for AYSO. I've been playing soccer for over eleven years and I've fallen in love with it. When I was twelve years old my club soccer team got chosen to play in Italy in a mini world cup. Out of sixteen girls team our team placed third place. Since I am from Argentina my favorite team is the Argentinian Nation team. My soccer idol is  Lionel Messi I've looked up to him for years, he got awarded the best soccer player in the world. In my point of view he deserved that award more then any other player out there.
I love this sport so much because when I'm on the field or practicing I don't think about anything else other then becoming better and winning. Once I begun playing this sport I realized that I was just naturally good at it. My soccer coaches in the past have said that it's because the sport is in my blood. Many people don't really think soccer is a fun sport to watch nor play but since I have been playing it for so many years I would never see or think about playing any other sport the way I play soccer.
